Fruit Salad on the Menu

Add a little elegance to your salad plate with these colourful fruit salads

Years ago when I first stated this blog, I thought to devote it completely for recipes. In my initial posts I made a few friends online who suggested me to do a complete lifestyle blog, starting from food, decor, travel to books.

My habit of writing recipe left in middle of other updates. I still wanted to open a site called 'Food Library' where you exchanged recipes and ideas and best of all, you made friends with foodies around the world.

Well that's the dream!!

So far I have this platform where I exchange recipes. If any of you make any of these recipes, then do let me know..

Fruit salad is more then just a mare of fruits. Its a diet style that is not hard, chewy ones – which kids would love and it should always be bite-sized so that you eat with ease, just like vacations...

Rainbow Fruit Salad

Ingredients
Fruits
• 250 grams fresh strawberries, diced
• 250 grams fresh pineapple, diced
• 250 grams fresh blueberries
• 250 grams red grapes, diced into halves
• 2 kiwis, peeled and diced
• 2 oranges
• 2 ripe bananas, diced

(Change the fruits according to your preference.. try to pick fruits that are colorful and can make a rainbow)

Honey Lime Dressing
• ¼ cup honey (I use less as I am not fond of an overly sweet fruit salad)
• 2 teaspoons lime zest (zest of 2 medium limes)
• 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

Method
1. Add all fruit to a large mixing bowl
2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, lime zest and lime juice
3. Pour over fruit just before serving and toss to evenly coat. As it sits for a few minutes, the juices will gather at the bottom, so toss again before plating

Notes:
Instead of lime use the zest of oranges and a few drops of orange juice or orange blossom water for a twist.

Arabian Tricolor Salad

Ingredients
Fruits
• 3 kiwis, peeled and diced
• 2 oranges
• 2 ripe bananas, diced

Sea Salt Dressing (I use it but it can be change according to the preference, like plain salt, chaat masala, lemon dressing etc)

Method
1. Peal and neatly cut all the fruits
2. Decorate in the serving plate and add the dressing

Notes:
Choose any three colors and present in a different way
